1. CO₂ Capture at an Industrial Site
Industrial companies are reducing their CO₂ emissions, but some emissions are unavoidable. So, what can be done with this residual CO₂?
To achieve carbon neutrality and limit global warming, Dunkirk is transforming its economy and industry. Industrial companies are adopting various solutions to reduce their energy consumption and use of primary resources, thereby significantly cutting CO₂ emissions. Production methods are evolving through energy efficiency improvements, the use of by-products as raw materials, the electrification of processes to replace fossil fuels, recycling and other measures.
However, some industrial sectors will continue to produce what is known as residual CO₂. This CO₂ can be captured from industrial flue gases and then reused or stored to prevent it from being released into the atmosphere.
