Sustainable territory

ON THE DUNKERQUE URBAN COMMUNITY

For the past five years, the DK’Bus network has been providing free transport services to the 17 municipalities of the CUD. This initiative offers an economical and environmentally friendly alternative, with 80% of buses running on biogas.

A bus accessible at any time

With six Chrono lines running every 10 minutes and an on-demand transport service, DK’Bus has become an essential means of transport for local residents. The Noctibus offers night-time services, providing a solution to suit all lifestyles.

The network also adapts to major events in the region: whether it’s for the carnival or the La Bonne Aventure festival, specific services are put in place to facilitate travel.

BUT ABOVE ALL, ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE!

For people with disabilities, the Handibus service offers free, adapted transport, operating every day from 4am to midnight. Available on request, it provides transport between your home or departure point and various points of interest in the CUD.

Commuting by bus with the Rapid’Ouest line

Since September, the Rapid’Ouest bus route has enabled employees working in Bourbourg industries, such as Verkor and Clarebout, to travel to work free of charge from Dunkirk station. This bus line is still new and will gradually evolve in line with demand and ridership, in order to better adapt to working hours and potentially incorporate new stops. Environmental protection, accessibility to employment for all, economic dynamism… there are many challenges associated with its creation by the Dunkirk Urban Community.

Did you know? In numbers

  • €100 per month (minimum): the estimated savings for new bus users!
700: the number of stops in the metropolitan area
135: the number of DK’Bus buses, plus 27 minibuses

About the Community of Municipalities of Hauts-de-Flandre

In addition to the Dk’Bus network, la Communauté de Communes des Hauts de Flandre (CCHF) also offers free bus routes connecting strategic locations such as Dunkirk station, Bergues station and Linéo in Wormhout. With more than 5,500 passengers in six months, this service has been a real success and is set to continue expanding to meet growing demand.
