A NETWORK OF FAST-GROWING SMES

ENGIK:

Engik has also seen speedy development since it was founded in GrandeSynthe in 2016. Specialising in the sale of spare parts, multiple brands of construction equipment and maintenance and repair work, the company already employs 11 workers and will soon recruit three more. Since 2017, ENGIK has been developing its export market, in Africa which has a substantial market for equipment and spare parts.

ATFEL:

ATFEL, a regional leader in timber frame construction, is making a large investment in a 26,000 m2 plot of land in Holque, so it can bring together its three brands together under a single 5,400 m2 building. The site will also be home to a timber frame and structure production site with an automated line, a 400 m2 showroom, sports hall, sauna and a games room for the group’s 40 or so employees.

TERRAOTHERM:

Based in Grande-Synthe, Terraotherm belongs to the Lille group Starklab and already has 30 staff. It designs and manufactures a range of high performance air-water heat exchangers as well as industrial flue gas treatment and cleaning solutions under the Terrao© brand. In 2019, it raised 4 million euros in funding from the “Banque des Territoires“ bank and “Innovative Territories Future Investment Programme” to accelerate its development in France and internationally.

ECONOX:

ECONOX group is a well-known stakeholder in the circular economy. Based in Bierne since 2012, it is expanding in the segment of metal street furniture for waste collection and sorting under the brands Econox Environnement and Econox Home. Since 2019 and the acquisition of AD Coup (now AD Coup by Econox), the group internally designs and manufactures its bespoke items required to make street furniture. Relentlessly innovative, Econox is gaining market share and enjoying strong growth.

MAHIEU CONSTRUCT:

Premadun, a French company owned by the Belgian company MAHIEU CONSTRUCT S.A., moved into a brand new 2,500 m2 building in Loon Plage in 2020, an investment of around 2.5 million euros. The company specialises in the manufacture of prefabricated reinforced concrete items for Mahieu Construct, a specialist in the design and construction of steel and/or concrete industrial and agricultural buildings. Its plan over the next four years is to expand its buildings to triple its production with concrete that could be used both inside and outside.

LABORATOIRES RODAËL :

Laboratoires Pharmaceutiques Rodaël, a pharmaceutical firm specialising in tablet, capsule and powder manufacture and packaging based in Bierne near Dunkirk, recently won the French Government’s call for projects as part of the Recovery Plan thanks to their “3R-1.2.3.” initiative. Its aim is to upgrade its packaging lines used for medicinal products of major therapeutic interest (MITMs) and probiotics.
