Verkor, a French company producing low-carbon, high-performance batteries, is setting up in our region.

Verkor’s ambition is to accelerate the industrial dynamic of low-carbon battery production in France in order to serve the European market.

With a team of international experts in the battery industry, it is aiming for manufacturing excellence by optimising proven technologies.

Verkor plans to recruit 1,200 permanent staff by 2027, including 300 in 2024 and 500 in 2025.

We are in an ecosystem in which solidarity and the value of work are important and we feel particularly strongly about this in Dunkirk and the département. It’s an industrial region that is aware of its needs and Verkor is developing an industry previously unexplored here with new, motivated employees ready to train in this sector. As a newcomer to Dunkirk, the remarkable thing is that the locals help you to integrate very quickly and one becomes more and more attached to the town. The transformation of Dunkirk is also impressive in terms of its improved quality of life, new infrastructure (La Digue, La Halle, new housing programmes, free collective mobility) and let’s not forget that Dunkirk is a place that loves a celebration, which doesn’t hurt either!
