PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS TO SUPPORT THIS ECONOMIC REJUVENATION
[DUNKIRK INDUSTRIAL REJUVENATION] :
More and more ambitious real estate projects in the Dunkirk area are accompanying the economic rejuvenation of the territory. Let’s see what the latest projects are and what’s to come
HÔTEL DES TECHNOLOGIES:
The “Hôtel des Technologies” is a GREATER DUNKIRK URBAN COUNCIL FACILITY that has just been completely renovated with the intention of hosting innovative start-ups. ARCELORMITTAL has already reserved 75% of the building, i.e., 2,700 m2, to house its Digital Lab, which will have an immersive training room, conference room, co-working space and showroom where the group’s success stories will be displayed. The “Hôtel des Technologies” aims to be a showcase for the territory to host digital entrepreneurs or innovative projects.
QUAI DE LEITH:
The development of the Quai de Leith, a tertiary and leisure centre, is currently underway two minutes from Dunkirk city centre, marina and train station. The work started in April and should be finished by the second quarter of 2022. This ambitious project includes a 4-star hotel with 89 rooms, helping Dunkirk to meet its growing business tourism needs. A restaurant area (350 m2) and shops (840 m2) will round it off. The project mainly consists of a new and modern office complex with a total surface area of 5,800 m2 spread over 5 floors and an underground car park with 60 spaces.

B-PARC:
B-PARC is one of the territory’s most important commercial property development projects. It is headed up by Piet Brysse, a Belgian investor, who bought the buildings belonging to a former factory on the 13-hectare site in Bourbourg in 2015. After demolishing the majority of the buildings, he built units for SMEs, SMIs and craftspeople. Nine have already been leased and another nine have just been built and are already occupied. This enormous, 25 million euro project will be rounded off with approximately fifty homes, a DIY store, an outdoor playground and a self-service restaurant by 2025.

EURAÉNERGIE:
Established as a public interest group by the GREATER DUNKIRK URBAN COUNCIL, the FLANDERS-DUNKIRK REGION URBAN PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY, DUNKERQUE PROMOTION, PÔLÉNERGIE and ECOPAL, Euraénergie innovation centre embodies the territory’s transformative dynamic. Currently using the former towage building in Dunkirk, EURAÉNERGIE will take up its new premises in a new 4,400m2 building constructed in Jetty 2 (Môle 2) near Dunkirk city centre at the end of 2022. This spot gives project owners the ideal conditions to test their innovations in conjunction with local industrial principals, in particular, an incubator, schools of engineering, labs, and technology spaces for prototyping and demos.
