Port: Dunfrost doubles its frozen foods storage area
Dunfrost, a subsidiary of the French family-owned group ConHexa which has been based in the Western Port of Dunkirk since 1994, is doubling the storage area of its frozen foods warehouse. The 7 million Euro investment will enable the company to increase its storage capacity by 12,000 pallets to 20,000 (compared with 8,000 pallets today), completely automate its equipment and offer its importer clients a single-parcel preparation service if required. This will strengthen the SME’s position as the leading food products logistics operator in the port of Dunkirk. This optimism owes much to the development of the port’s container terminal, and Dunfrost intends to make the most of its ideal location a few hundred yards away, both by increasing its share of imports into France and Europe, and also by developing exports from Dunkirk.
