Have you just moved to Dunkirk?
Why not contact AVF? It stands for Accueil des Villes Françaises, and is an association that has been active in Dunkirk for the last 50 years. It has only one aim: to help you settle into your new city and overcome the loneliness you may feel on arriving in a completely new area. Our team 40 of volunteers organises a whole range of different events (cinema outings, coffee breaks, museum visits, lectures, walks, and so on), that are a great way to build a circle of friends outside your work. “We’re not a club or a clan, we’re just a group of nearly 150 people in Dunkirk who enjoy being together and welcoming new friends,” explains Marie Raison, one of its members. You can meet AVF representatives at the Tour du Leughenaer every Tuesday afternoon (except during school holidays) from 14.15 to 16.15, or contact one of the association’s volunteers on 06 29 74 10 13 or by email at AVF.DUNKERQUE@YAHOO.FR
