Junior high schools welcome children after primary school. There are 4 levels: 6ème (sixième), 5ème (cinquième), 4ème (quatrième) and 3ème (troisième). 

Greater Dunkirk Urban Council

The territory of the Greater Dunkirk Urban Council has 21 towns and associated towns, and spans a surface area of 293.3 km². With more than 200 schools, it offers a wide choice of centres for your child’s education, ranging from nursery school to higher education. This means your needs will most definitely be met when it comes to age, location and even the area of study.

When your child turns 10, it’s time to go to junior high school. To accommodate this, the Greater Dunkirk Urban Council offers a wide range of 24 schools, both private and state, across its different towns: Dunkirk, Bourbourg, Bray-Dunes, Cappelle-la-Grande, Coudekerque-Branche, Grande-Synthe, Grand-Fort-Philippe, Gravelines and Loon-Plage.
