The first French Ecological transition cooperative was established just a year ago in our territory. It is an initiative of Grande-Synthe town and Zoein, a Swiss public utility foundation, along with four other local and regional partners working in the field of entrepreneurship, integration, and the social and solidarity economy. This cooperative aims to help to create and develop business projects in the area of more responsible and sustainable new modes of production and consumption.
Its mission is to intervene in the Dunkirk region and even more widely. The idea is to secure the path of business founders by allowing them to test their project, make it sustainable and develop it as part of the Cooperative under the status of “employee-business owner”. This status offers guarantees in terms of social protection. Furthermore, the Cooperative intends to provide technical and financial support to both new and seasoned business owners. For the past year, three project developers have already been receiving support, including one in a partnership with the Dunkirk Employment Foundation.
