align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">I was born here, so Dunkirk is really part of who I am, and I\u2019ve spent my whole life here. And then, in recent years, you can really sense a new energy in the Dunkirk area: industrial projects are on the rise, companies are recruiting, and the region is changing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">For me, that was a real turning point. I realised I didn\u2019t need to look elsewhere to build my career: everything I need is right here. For me, it made perfect sense to build my professional life here in the Dunkirk area, and I have no intention of leaving.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\" class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\" id=\"how-did-you-join-the-gravelines-nuclear-power-station\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">How did you join the Gravelines nuclear power station?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">I was lucky enough to be recruited onto a work-study scheme following my first attendance at the work-study job fair organised by the power station at the Kursaal in Dunkirk in 2024; it was a real opportunity and launched my career as an engineer in the automation department.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">I then discovered a fascinating and highly educational world, and in 2025 I was hired on a permanent contract for the role I had been preparing for as a work-study student.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">This year I was able to switch sides and take part in my second Job Dating event at the Kursaal, but this time as a recruiter \u2013 I\u2019ve come full circle!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\" class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\" id=\"what-makes-you-proud-of-your-job-today\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">What makes you proud of your job today?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">Definitely the fact that I work in a local industry, right here in Gravelines. I\u2019m helping to run a facility that\u2019s been part of the Dunkirk landscape for decades and supplies power to millions of homes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">You wouldn\u2019t believe what goes on behind a light switch! It\u2019s a tangible thing, and I feel useful by playing my small part in producing and maintaining this locally sourced energy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cvGsUA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">It\u2019s a source of immense pride to work at the power station that shaped and defined my youth, given the impact it has on the Dunkirk area.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-post__footer\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div
