It schematically represents the ecosystem of the Flanders-Dunkirk area and helps to identify opportunities to be seized to develop the circular economy in the local area by providing a comprehensive overview of the co-products, energies and utilities to be recovered.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-plus\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-plus__head\"><p>Toile agricole et agroalimentaire \u00ae<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-plus__content\"><p>The Toile agricole et agroalimentaire \u00ae (agriculture and agri-food decision-making tool) is a representation of the Flanders-Dunkirk territory\u2019s agricultural ecosystem. This decision-making tool has been designed as a device to help determine certain matters. It reveals, for example, the opportunities for recycling agricultural waste into biomethane and encourages setting up short-circuits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-plus\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-plus__head\"><p>Industrial water network<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-plus__content\"><p>Since the 1970s, an industrial heat network different to the drinking water network was created to power the industries in the Dunkirk economic basin. They deal with non-drinking surface water volumes. Less costly than drinking water, industrial water is a highly valued resource for industrial activities requiring large volumes of water and the Dunkirk area is one of the very few territories to provide this service in France. Protecting water resources is a burning issue for the coming decades: Syndicat Eau du Dunkerquois water utility company and its partners Greater Dunkirk Urban Council (CUD) and the Grand Port Maritime of Dunkirk (GPMD) are studying the synergies to be put in place to develop the circular water economy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-plus\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-plus__head\"><p>Heat network<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-plus__content\"><p>Dunkirk has had a system that recovers the waste heat produced by the ArcelorMittal site since 1986. More than 68 km long, it powers buildings and facilities in the community and enables us to avoid 27,000 tonnes of CO<sub>2<\/sub> per year. Plans are underway to further expand this network.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, a flax shive-powered heat network in the Hauts de Flandre Greater District Council (CCHF) heats the hydrotherapy centre&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dunkerquelenergiecreative.fr\/investissements\/la-cchf-finance-une-recherche-pour-valoriser-les-anas-de-lin-en-energie-propre\/\">Lin\u00e9o.&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<section class=\"blc-banner-full c-section c-section--tertiary\" id='c76676bb44b6795a1cff6c38f856909a'>\r\n\t<div class=\"o-wrapper\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"c-section__narrow\">\r\n\t\t\t<h2 class='u-text-center' class='u-text-center' id=\"the-heat-superhighway-a-community-territorial-project-for-decarbonisation\">THE HEAT SUPERHIGHWAY, A COMMUNITY TERRITORIAL PROJECT FOR DECARBONISATION<\/h2>\t\t\t<p>A \u201cheat superhighway\u201d connecting industrialists and logistics providers in the industrial-port area is planned for 2023-2027. It was created in 1980 by 17 companies in the Dunkirk basin with a view to supporting its members with the implementation of the Industrial and Territorial Ecology (ITE).
