Reuze, DMX and D\u2019Artagnan are just a few examples.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<a class='c-btn ' href=\"https:\/\/dunkerquelenergiecreative.fr\/en\/investments\/8-industrialists-committed-to-carbon-neutrality\/\" target=\"_blank\">Get to know all the projects<\/a>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\r\n\n\n\n\n<section class=\"blc-keys-numbers c-nums c-section--white\" id='b4f2012135ab34b77ab1a13f77e218ca'>\n\t<div class=\"o-wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-nums__row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-nums__col\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-nums__num\">20%<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"c-nums__desc\"><p class=\"p1\">Dunkirk\u2019s port and industrial area is the source of 21% of the French industry&#8217;s carbon emissions. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-nums__col\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-nums__num\">2050<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"c-nums__desc\"><p class=\"p1\">Dunkirk is aiming to become carbon neutral by 2050<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-nums__col\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-nums__num\">300,000 T<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"c-nums__desc\"><p class=\"p1\">The Dunkirk<a href=\"https:\/\/dunkerquelenergiecreative.fr\/en\/?p=22962\"><span class=\"s1\"> REUZE<\/span> project<\/a> will enable 300,000 tonnes of CO<sub>2<\/sub> to be captured from the ArcelorMittal site.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-nums__col\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-nums__num\">4,400T<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"c-nums__desc\"><p class=\"p1\">The \u201c3D\u201d pilot will be able to capture around 4,400 tonnes of CO<sub>2<\/sub> per year to treat the blast furnace gases from the ArcelorMittal factory in Dunkirk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\r\n\r\n<section class=\"blc-text-media c-section c-section--white\" id='7181e93ebf8b11de38d7240f82d13d73'>\r\n\t<div class=\"o-wrapper\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"c-block-push c-block-push--invert\">\r\n\t\t\t<div class=\"c-block-push__img\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"ratio-16x9\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sch\u00e9ma valorisation co2 ccus\" src=\"https:\/\/dunkerquelenergiecreative.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/ccus3.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dunkerquelenergiecreative.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/ccus3-264x300.jpg 264w, https:\/\/dunkerquelenergiecreative.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/ccus3.jpg 492w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 992px) 496px, (min-width: 1200px) 600px, (min-width: 1400px) 700px, (min-width: 1600px) 800px, 100vw\">\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<div class=\"c-block-push__content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"c-wysiwyg\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id=\"what-does-carbon-capture-use-and-storage-ccus-involve\">WHAT DOES CARBON CAPTURE, USE AND STORAGE (CCUS) INVOLVE?<\/h2>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<div><p class=\"p1\">Although reducing CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions remains one of the main objectives, other projects are underway or in the pipeline:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">CO<sub>2<\/sub> capture and storage <i>(CCS)<\/i>, such as the <span class=\"s1\">Northern Lights project<\/span>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">CO<sub>2<\/sub> capture, use and storage <i>(CCUS)<\/i> with three major principles:\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Use without transformation,<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Chemical transformation,&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Biological transformation by bursting and recovering the<br \/>\nmolecules forming the CO<sub>2<\/sub>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\">To transform it, there are numerous parameters to be considered: the stability of the available resource, the grade of purity, the cost of the technologies and regulatory fees and other criteria linked to the planned transformation processes (availability of land, energy and water, etc.).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>The Dunkirk basin is home to many CO<sub>2<\/sub> decarbonisation and use solutions and has deployed France&#8217;s first CO<sub>2<\/sub> and H<sub>2<\/sub> Hub.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<a class='c-btn ' href=\"https:\/\/invest.dunkerquepromotion.org\/en\/a-territory-with-a-decarbonised-industry\" target=\"_blank\">DUNKIRK, THE NUMBER 1 SOURCE FOR DECARBONISATION SOLUTIONS <\/a>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\r\n\n\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<section class=\"blc-banner-full c-section c-section--secondary\" id='48f2e8953d012140973e4fa7ca7adab6'>\r\n\t<div class=\"o-wrapper\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"c-section__narrow\">\r\n\t\t\t<h2 class='u-text-center' class='u-text-center' id=\"the-co2-collective\">THE CO2 COLLECTIVE <\/h2>\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\">Since 2018, Dunkirk&#8217;s industrialists have been coming together to accelerate the transition and raise awareness of the climate emergency among European and governmental bodies. In fact, modifying technical processes, improving energy efficiency and shifting to low-carbon energies require colossal amounts of funding, for which support is needed. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This unprecedented initiative rallying <b>manufacturers around carbon neutrality and the future of our resilient local industry<\/b> was hailed by the CEO of the ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition) and the Rev3 Commission.
