A PIONEERING TERRITORY IN INDUSTRIAL DECARBONISATION<\/h2>\t\t\t

Dunkirk is a historic basin of French industry. Even today, a quarter of the territory’s salaried employees are in the industrial sector.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\r\n\n\n\r\n\r\n

Thanks to the<\/strong> Grand Port Maritime of Dunkirk<\/strong><\/a>, the territory boasts a strong productive specificity in a port environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The steel, metal work and energy production industries have shaped our region into the diversified one it is today.<\/p>\n

Major names in global industry such as <\/strong>ArcelorMittal<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>AstraZeneca<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>BASF<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Coca-Cola<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Dillinger<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>EDF<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Kubota<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Ovh<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Prologium, Verkor<\/strong><\/a> and other companies have set up plants in the Dunkirk basin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A dense network of subcontractors and service companies complements the local industrial ecosystem: an added extra for companies as they can find experienced and competitive players right here.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\r\n\n\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In 2019, by answering the government’s \u201cInnovative Territories\u201d call for expression of interest, the Dunkirk area is positioning itself as a major player in the French industrial landscape. With clear and ambitious objectives: <\/p>\n

    At the end of the first phase of the Industrial Territories scheme (2019-2023), the President of the French Republic announced a new stage in France’s national ambitions for 2030, defined by the \u2018France 2030\u2019 project.  <\/strong><\/p>\n

    This second phase of the Industrial Territories scheme focuses on \u201cgreen industry\u201d and is based on four key strategic areas, which emerged as major priorities after the first phase of the programme.<\/p>\n

    At the end of 2023, the areas of the Greater Dunkirk Urban Council, the Hauts de Flandre Greater District Council, the Audruicq Greater District Council and the Flandre Int\u00e9rieure Greater District Council (now C\u0153ur de Flandre Agglo) worked together to draw up a joint story by submitting an application to the Industrial Territories Temps II programme (2023-2027).<\/p>\n

    This bid, built around genuine synergies and complementing skills between the four local authorities, marks a shared desire to anticipate and support the transformation and reindustrialisation of this new \u201cAa – Dunkirk – Flanders\u201d industrial territory<\/em> .<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\r\n\n\n\n\n
