Philippe BOUCLY
Philippe Boucly, CEO France Hydrogène :
“Because of the historical industrial activities present in the Dunkirk area, particularly in the Grand Port Maritime, it has all the assets to become a first-class territory by changing the scale of the hydrogen sector. France Hydrogène is not mistaken; it sees this territory as one of the main “basins” of production/use in France.
A large number of projects are currently being organised. Decarbonising the Dunkirk area will require 350,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year, or more depending on the ambitions set out, which is a very significant amount (current French hydrogen production is 420,000 tonnes per year). This whole production would primarily be used for steelmaking, production of e-fuels and synthetic molecules for industrial or heavy mobility needs.”
