“The coastline and the Dunkirk area make up France’s third industrial platform. The challenge around decarbonisation is therefore even greater. That’s why the CCI, local authorities, the Regional Council and the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME) have pooled their resources to work together and find out how to produce less carbon, how to reuse it and how to store the surplus. There’s not just a one solution, there are multiple including storage, reuse and non-production. Working with industrialists, we have built a roadmap to lower CO2 production. In partnership with the ADEME, we have carried out a study allowing us to measure the CO2 resources and identify the best driving forces more precisely. Several projects are already in the pipeline or ready to be put into action, pending funding.“
