EURAENERGIE, parc d’innovation
Initiated in 2016, the Euraénergie innovation park seeks to support the transformation of the territory of Dunkirk in the fields of the energy transition and circular economy.
Euraénergie, established as a public interest group by the Greater Dunkirk Urban Council, theFlanders-Dunkirk Agency for Urban Planning and Development,Dunkerque Promotion, Pôlénergie and Ecopal, helps the territory’s start-ups, micro-enterprises and SMEs that are undertaking innovative projects. Euraénergie increases synergies with the industrial fabric at the heart of this innovation-focused ecosystem. Currently using the former towage building in Dunkirk, Euraénergiewill move to a new 4,400m2 building in Jetty 2 (Môle 2) at the end of 2022. The project promoters there will have the ideal conditions to test their innovations and undertake full-scale prototypes, in association with local industrial clients.
They will also find the high- level skills and cutting-edge equipment they need, particularly through contact with the University Littoral Côte d’Opale research laboratories and the two engineering schools (EILCO and IMT Lille Douai) which both open energy engineering degrees in September 2020 in Dunkirk. What a way to fully support the ambition to transform Dunkirk’s industrial and port territory, buoyed by “Dunkirk, Creative Energy”, a territory project named an“Innovative Territory” by the State in 2019.
